In the year 2007 I finished 6 books.

Bleachers

Author: John Grisham
Format: Book (288 pages)
Origin: Borrowed From Friend

I was looking for a light read for the summer. Man, is this thing light. Lazy narrative that introduces characters by having them all in one place. Mysterious incident is only a mystery to the characters, any reader will figure it out ahead of time. Makes you hate people that are still living in the past.

Crawling: A Father's First Year

Author: Elisha Cooper
Format: Book
Origin: Gift

I related to several of the stories. However, the author has no patience and "must" have everything a certain way, which turned me off completely. I completed the book ever so slowly, but only after dismissing the author's opinion and took the perspective of my own take on his familiar situations

Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim

Author: David Sedaris
Format: Book (272 pages)
Origin: Borrowed From Friend

My first Sedaris book. Nice to know that he references his Raleigh connections. Did not find his stories all that funny. Some were outlandish, to be sure, but not "funny" per se.

The Undercover Economist: Exposing Why the Rich Are Rich, the Poor Are Poor--and Why You Can Never Buy a Decent Used Car!

Author: Tim Harford
Format: Book (320 pages)
Origin: From Library

Great book involving alternative socio economic theory that gave more real life scenarios as opposed to the odd examples in books like Freakanomics. However, it gets bogged down in explaining poor countries and how they got that way.

To Hate Like This Is to Be Happy Forever: A Thoroughly Obsessive, Intermittently Uplifting, and Occasionally Unbiased Account of the Duke-North Carolina Basketball Rivalry

Author: Will Blythe
Type: Non-Fiction
Format: Book
Origin: Borrowed From Friend

Although I don't hate Duke as much as the author, I can certainly relate as a UNC Alum Took me way too long to finish this book. I kept forgetting to read it, plus it became a bit of a chore, although not to the fault of the author.

You: On A Diet: The Owner's Manual for Waist Management

Author: Mehmet C. Oz/Michael F. Roizen
Format: Book
Origin: Purchased: Amazon.com

I now know more about the entire digestive process than I ever hoped to know. Full of recipes that I probably will never use, but I like the concept. I recommend this book to anyone that is not currently exercising and has questionable eating habits.
