Adjustment

Being a daddy

It has been two weeks since Myra Grace was born.  Obviously, things have changed at Chez Eman.  The sleep patterns have changed quite a bit.  MG is up every 3-4 hours, so the days of a full night sleeps seem like a distant memory.  However, the human body adapts to this sleep pattern quicker than you imagine.  My body now anticipates these sleep interuptions.  Granted, my involvement with the baby's feedings is much less than Abby's.  I have tried to be helpful for the middle of the night feedings, but there is only so much I can do.  It really does not bother me at all to run errands in the night, because whatever my wife/daughter needs from me, I will try to provide.

At only two weeks, there's not a whole lot that Myra Grace does.  I am looking forward to the days where she reacts to my stimuli, which should not be too far down the line.  Being a father is great.  Much better than I could have imagined.

Re: Adjustment

Glad to hear you say that being a dad is great. Being a parent is something that no one can explain. But its the best job you could ever have. Your comments on kids getting everything they want are cute right now. Cause I know that's how you feel in your heart and mind (we all do) but all Myra Grace is going to have to do is smile, hug you and say I love you daddy and you'll be getting her what ever she wants. Just wait and see. Its harder than you think.

Love ya! Diane
